Standard Form of Quadratic Equations

In this video, we are going to learn about the standard form of a quadratic equation

  • We define the vertex, axis of symmetry, solutions, roots, x intercepts, y intercept
  • We show how to find the vertex axis aof symmetry x intercepts, and y intercept from the standard form
  • We practice examples of getting the characteristics of a parabola from standard form
  • We use the quadratic formula to find x intercepts, use negative b over 2a to find the vertex, show that c is the y intercept, and if a is positive it opens up, and if z is negative, it opens down
